How to prepare your HDPE Mould. We use a silicone scraper to get an even and thin bead, don’t worry the edges of the mould have been rounded over to allow a thin bead to sit in the join but this should still allow your project to come out with a square edge, we also use a coloured silicone so you see if you missed anywhere! Diameter- Approx. 300mm - Why use HDPE moulds - HDPE is a non stick and non adhesive plastic which resin does not stick too, this means it makes the perfect mould for resin projects, it does not require any sprays or tape to release your project and with a quick wipe down it’s ready to use again and again. - Before starting your project - 1) You should always ensure your mould is on a flat and study surface throughout your project and double check with a spirit level. 2) As with most resin projects - you should ensure all screws are tightened and use a standard silicone for all internal joints to ensure no leaking.
